Introduction to Voice & Text movies (V&T)
Almost every student can immediately improve his or her decoding, automaticity and fluency if you correctly match the presentation of text to that student’s exact needs. Our program achieves phenomenal success with elementary students and beginning students of all ages, including all adult beginners. It is excellent as well for ESL students and Special Needs Students. Furthermore, all these students will instantly start to enjoy reading, once they have the right voice and text presentation for their individual needs. Reading avoidance and reading anxiety will simply disappear within minutes. See for yourself.
With our program, students advance from reading one word at a time to reading short phrases, to reading punctuation intervals, to reading sentences. Many of these techniques can be combined and have never existed before. For example, a student can now also read a word at a time in a short phrase, or a phrase at a time in a punctuation interval, or a punctuation interval at a time within a sentence and paragraph.
When the software presentation matches the student’s exact needs, issues of anxiety, overwhelming challenge, and short-term memory deficit disappear immediately.
At the end of the interval, no matter how long, the student is asked to take everything just learned and read that word, or phrase, or punctuation interval, or sentence out loud fluently, before hearing it read fluently. In this way we seamlessly combine decoding, automaticity and fluency. Whenever a student cannot sound out a word or makes a mistake, he or she echoes the correct pronunciation. No one ever leaves a phrase without getting it “right”. Accurate voice and text correlation is key at this stage of reading development. Learn much more about our Voice and Text Program.
Directions
1.Go through these movies in order. The right setting will be the one between the movie that is too slow and the movie that is too fast. You will know, or ask for our help.
2.Try to pronounce each word, or group of words, before you hear the computer pronounce the word(s).
3.If you were not able to say anything, or said the wrong thing, echo (repeat) what you hear. Do not leave a group of words without saying them correctly.
4.Take everything you learned the first time through the words and say the group of words fluently before, or with the sound, when the text is repeated out loud.
5.Try to say the group of words smoothly. If you do not get it smoothly pronounced with the voice the first time the group of words is repeated, say it afterwards, or with the voice, the second time you hear it.
Adjustable Software
With our actual software many features are adjustable as you read. Here is a list of variables with the choices in each.
1.There a number of voices to choose between, male and female.
2.The speed of the speaking voice can be adjusted to be slower or faster.
3.The text can advance automatically at a choice of speeds, or it can progress interactively, where you press “enter” in order to continue.
4.Any book or text on the Internet can be read any of these ways. You choose what you want to read. You have a great choice for age appropriateness and subject matter.
5.With the software, you can instantly change the settings to match the complexity of what you are reading and your current level.
6.The length of the “cognitive interval” can be adjusted for each person’s current needs.
7.The number of times the whole “section” of text is repeated can be changed from 0>1>2 times.
Please Note: Just one program is all you need to do all these 11 “Voice and Text” presentations, and all the “Silent Reading” presentations, and all textbooks and novels in e-text.
